I walked slowly down the slick asphalt.
Simultaneously we held up our hands in a waveless wave. My
palm raised and faced him, offering a still
acknowledgement. His palm lifted from the steering wheel,
and held steady towards me as I slowly passed. Our heads
nodded that kind of imperceptible motion that is saved for
special moments of knowing. My smile broadened as I passed
his car and floated through the rain into the night.

The evening’s meditation and lecture touched a
multitude of topics as questions and answers were volleyed.
I listened with quiet interest. That night in the hotel
room, a pounding rain splashed against my window, and I had
dreams.
