I found a space in the parking lot along the side of
the theater. I collected my purse, my small pillow and my
umbrella, and moved down the asphalt ramp that led to the
front of the theater. I stepped aside as a car splashed
by. The car’s passing marked the beginning of an errie
silence. Sounds of raindrops hitting obstacles created the
only audible sound. A small red Porsche turned into the
driveway, and stopped at the bottom of the ramp. There was
no one else there. I was alone in the rain, waiting for
the red Porsche to pass. I stepped to the side to allow
for the car’s passage, but the Porsche remained stopped at
the bottom of the incline. I held my umbrella and looked
through the veil of rain towards the car. I saw that Rama
was the driver, and realized we were alone, in the rain,
waiting for each other.
