By 7:30 she would be viewing an empty house whose only
residents were a Golden Retriever who watched over the
yard, and a mostly Siamese cat who protected the home’s
interior.

The family of four would be out for the day, playing
their respective roles in the world. Two were students,
one a teacher, one a businessman. While June Cleavor might
frown upon the mother of the household, she would like the
children. Lea, who was three, attended a small
Montessori school where life was filled with friends and
creative adventures. Matt at seven was overflowing with
talents as an artist and athlete. Light brown eyes and
thick blond hair framed their faces and clearly marked them
as brother and sister.
